Security Updates

Important Security Announcement – October 2026

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a secure and reliable hosting environment, we are announcing several important security updates and reminders. Please take a few moments to review the following information and ensure your website and email applications are properly configured.

1. Global PHP Security Issue – Servers Patched

In response to a recent global PHP security issue, we have completed the necessary security patching across all of our hosting servers.

These updates help protect our hosting infrastructure against known vulnerabilities. No action is required from you regarding the server-level patches.

2. Website Software and Plugin Updates – Your Responsibility

While we maintain and secure our hosting infrastructure, you are responsible for keeping your website's software up to date.

If your website uses a Content Management System (CMS), such as WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal, please ensure that:

  • Your CMS is updated to the latest secure version.

  • All installed plugins, extensions, and themes are up to date.

  • Unused or unsupported plugins and themes are removed.

  • Regular backups of your website are maintained.

We perform Weekly and Monthly backups of your websites hosted with us but recommend you still make regular backups from the control panel and download it to another location.

Important: We do not perform website CMS, plugin, or theme updates on your behalf as part of our standard hosting services.

Outdated website software is one of the most common ways attackers gain unauthorized access to websites. We strongly encourage you to review your website's update status regularly.

3. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for WordPress

We strongly recommend that all WordPress website administrators enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).

2FA adds an additional layer of protection to your WordPress login, helping prevent unauthorized access even if your password has been compromised.

WordPress users can enable 2FA by installing a supported authentication plugin.

Instructions: How to enable Two-Factor Authentication for WordPress

We recommend enabling 2FA for every account with administrative access.

4. Non-SSL Email Connections Are No Longer Supported

To improve email security and protect your information, we no longer support unencrypted email connections.

Most modern email applications already use secure connections, so this change should not affect the majority of customers.

However, if you experience issues sending or receiving email, please check your email client's configuration and ensure the following secure settings are being used:

Email Protocol Port Security
IMAP (Incoming) 993 SSL/TLS
POP3 (Incoming) 995 SSL/TLS
SMTP (Outgoing) 465 SSL/TLS

Please ensure that authentication is enabled for outgoing SMTP connections.

These settings apply to email accounts hosted on our servers. If you use an external email provider, such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, please follow that provider's configuration requirements.

5. Need Additional Cybersecurity Assistance?

Cybersecurity extends beyond website hosting. Keeping your business protected requires ongoing attention to your websites, email, computers, networks, and user accounts.

If you require additional cybersecurity assistance, including security assessments, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, or managed cybersecurity services, please contact our sister company:
